SNKRS is Nike's own release app, and for the most limited Nike and Jordan drops it is often the only place they launch. It has its own vocabulary, its own timing and a reputation for being unwinnable. It is not unwinnable, but it does reward people who understand which launch type they are looking at. This guide explains the release methods Nike uses, the times that matter in the UK and Europe, and the few things that genuinely help.
The launch types
Draw. The most common method for hyped pairs. The product goes live, you pick a size and enter, and after the entry window closes Nike selects winners at random. Windows are short, usually only a few minutes, so you need to be in the app with a size in mind before the launch time. Your payment method is taken when you enter and you are only charged if you are selected. Results arrive as a notification, often within minutes for some draws and later in the day for others. You may see people online call draws LEO or DAN. Those are community nicknames for Nike's draw variants, not official terms, and the entry process is the same.
First come first served. Stock is sold as it is bought, like a normal shop. Nike uses this for general releases and for less limited colourways. Speed matters here, so have your size selected and pay with a saved card. Restocks on SNKRS are also first come first served.
Exclusive Access. An invite-only launch. Nike sends selected members an offer to buy a specific pair, delivered as a push notification in the app, and the offer is only available for a limited time. Nike says the selection criteria change constantly and that past losses are one of the factors it considers, which is its way of rewarding people who enter draws and keep losing. Push notifications must be on or you will never see the offer.
Exclusive Draw. A newer, invite-only version of the draw. Everyone invited gets the same window to enter, winners are picked at random after it closes, and results follow shortly after. Nike introduced it to give more members a chance at its most coveted styles.
When SNKRS launches happen in the UK and Europe
Nike launches in the UK and the rest of Europe typically go live at 8am UK time, which is 9am in central Europe. The US SNKRS store launches the same shoe later in the day at 10am Eastern, which is 3pm in the UK. That gap is useful: if you lose the European draw in the morning, the US launch is a second chance for pairs that ship internationally, and the Droplist app lists both with their times in your timezone. What actually helps
- Complete your Nike Member profile with a verified address and a saved payment card. Entries with missing details fail silently.
- Turn on push notifications for SNKRS. Exclusive Access offers and draw results only come through the app.
- Enter every draw you would genuinely buy. Nike has said past losses count towards Exclusive Access, so losing is not wasted.
- One account per person. Nike cancels duplicate entries and can close accounts that run several profiles from one address or card.
- Do not refresh through the launch. Draw entries are not first come first served, so the entry only needs to be submitted inside the window.
- Have a plan B. Most SNKRS releases also drop at Nike's retail partners, often as raffles. Droplist lists every retailer for each release next to the SNKRS links.
What does not help
Nike is direct about this: trying to work out the selection formula and game it does not improve your odds. Entering the second the draw opens, entering at the last second, using multiple devices, or "engagement farming" by opening the app repeatedly are all folklore. Bots work against first come first served stock, which is exactly why Nike moved its most limited pairs to draws.
Reading a SNKRS product page
Before launch, the page shows the date and time and whether it is a draw or first come first served. On launch, a draw shows an enter button with a countdown for the window. After the window it shows pending until results are sent. If you were selected you get a notification and an order confirmation email. If the button says "got 'em" for someone else's post on social media, that is a screenshot of a win, not a restock.
Restocks and returns
Pairs from cancelled orders and returns go back on sale on SNKRS, first come first served and without warning. They are usually in odd sizes and go in seconds, so the only realistic way to catch one is a size-specific restock alert. Follow a shoe in the Droplist app, choose your size, and you will get a push notification when a retailer we track puts that size back in stock.
