Since joining the Nike SB Program in 2009, Eric Koston’s insight and deep affinity for Nike heritage have left a lasting imprint on several SB staples and signature models. Instrumental in adapting and enhancing the legendary Air Max 95 for skateboarding, the AM95’s 30th anniversary was the perfect launching pad for a customized Koston iteration of an icon. Going back to the days when Koston was given the design keys to craft signature shoes, the Koston Nike SB Air Max 95 nostalgically returns to Eric’s go-to color choices and signature details. Adding Koston nameskate details to the AM95 tongue logo and sockliner, Eric requested a unique toe-tip Nike detail in Thai script to honor his heritage and serve as a callback to his early SB designs. Using the distinct skeletal-inspired lines of the OG, the Koston Air Max 95 features specific enhancements for skateboarding, including a leather and suede upper, folded edge, double stitch reinforcement in key wear areas for durability, and reduced foam and updated lugs with herringbone tread for board feel and traction while maintaining the aesthetics and functionality of the original AM95 Max Air unit. - NIKE.COM.
